Originating from Urakawa, Hokkaido, she began her career as a jockey in 1977, achieving notable success with a total of 1,294 wins. Hori is celebrated for her prowess as a front-runner and her success in the Oka Sho, having won it three times. She transitioned to training in 2004 and established her first yard shortly thereafter, continuing to make an impact in the competitive racing scene.
