Dmitriy Aleksandrovich Kharkevich is a Soviet and Russian pharmacologist born on October 30, 1927. He became an academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences in 2013 and was a corresponding member of the Academy of Medical Sciences of the USSR in 1984. Kharkevich is recognized as a distinguished professor at the First Moscow State Medical University. He was elected to the Leopoldina Academy in 1979 and was honored as a distinguished scientist of the Russian Federation in 1998.
