She studied philosophy and education sciences at the University of Granada, graduating in 1981, and specialized in clinical and educational psychology. A member of the PSOE party, she settled in Valencia and held various political positions including deputy in the Valencian Courts and a culture councilor in l'Eliana. She served as the secretary of the Women's Participation in her regional executive and was involved in social policy in the Valencian Courts.
