Jaime Genovevo Figueroa Zamudio is a Mexican ophthalmologist and politician, born on April 26, 1940, in Cuitzeo del Porvenir, Michoacán. He served as the Governor of Michoacán, Secretary General of Government, Senator for Michoacán, and Ambassador to Argentina. Throughout his political career, he held significant positions including Coordinator of PRI Senators and President of the Senate's Gran Comisión. After leaving the PRI in 2002, he became the Secretary of Tourism and later pursued the municipal presidency of Morelia, running as a candidate in 2011.
