Gilang Ramadhan, born on May 30, 1963, is an Indonesian drummer and musician. He is the second son of Ramadan Kartahadimadja, a writer and painter, and Pruistin Atmadjasaputra, a diplomat. Gilang's musical journey began in childhood, starting with piano and violin before favoring drums. He studied music at various institutions including Taman Ismail Marzuki and later in France with composer Slamet Abdul Sjukur. In the US, he attended Hollywood Professional School and Los Angeles City College, where he played in several bands, including the LACC Big Band.
