Jarmo Kunnas was a Finnish athlete born on July 7, 1937, in Helsinki, primarily competing in shot put. He achieved a notable 12th place at the 1962 European Championships in Belgrade with a throw of 17.06 meters. Representing Tampereen Pyrintö and Helsingin Kisa-Veikot, he won two Finnish Championships and was the first Finnish shot putter to exceed 17 meters in 1959. His career-best throws were 18.34 meters outdoors in 1969 and 18.52 meters indoors in 1975. Kunnas was also a relay champion, winning the 4x100 meters for youth in 1956-1957.
