José Cruz Delgado Espinoza was a Chilean miner, trade union leader, and communist politician born on February 16, 1912, in Coronel and died on June 18, 1960, in Santiago. He was a prominent figure in coal mining, becoming an important union leader. He was elected Councillor in Curanilahue from 1938 to 1941 and later became a Deputy for the National Progressive Party from 1941 to 1945. He served on the permanent commissions for Economy, Commerce, and Industries.
