Karapet Ovanesovitsj Soekiasjan is an Armenian linguist and historian born on March 15, 1936, in Iran. He repatriated to Soviet Armenia in 1946 and later graduated from the Etchmiadzin Theological Seminary (1961) and Yerevan State University (1966). A doctoral candidate in philological sciences since 1972, he worked at the Matenadaran Research Institute for Ancient Manuscripts from 1967 to 1987. He has authored numerous scientific papers and books, including 'Armenians and Ararat,' which discusses the etymology of names related to Armenians and their origins in the Armenian Highlands.
