Kyōko Saga, born Noriko Shinmura on January 13, 1941, in Kyoto, was a Japanese actress best known for her role as Oiwa in the TV adaptation of 'Yotsuya Kaidan' in 1970. She began her career as a new face at Daiei film studio at the age of 19. After her marriage at 35, she retired from acting and became a beloved proprietress of a kaiseki restaurant, ‘Sasayoshi’, where she regaled patrons with stories from her acting days. Kyōko Saga passed away from pancreatic cancer on August 11, 2014, at the age of 73.
