Lidia Oleksiivna Smogorzhevska (née Yahnytsia; 1926–2010) was a Soviet and Ukrainian parasitologist specializing in bird helminths, particularly nematodes. She pioneered the research direction of ornithohelminthology in Ukraine and earned a Doctor of Biological Sciences in 1980. In 1995, she received the I.I. Shmalkhauzen Prize from the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. Smogorzhevska authored around 100 scientific works, including 7 monographs, one of which is part of the 'Fauna of Ukraine' series (1990), and she described several new species of bird helminths.
