Mahmoud Ezzat Ibrahim, born on August 13, 1944, in Cairo, is a prominent leader of the Muslim Brotherhood and served as the acting General Guide between 2013 and 2020. He is a member of the Guidance Bureau and a professor at Zagazig University. Ezzat became the acting leader following the ousting of President Mohamed Morsi and the arrest of General Guide Mohamed Badie during the military coup in 2013. He is married and has five children.
