He was part of the Xeración das Festas Minervais and is known for his extensive poetry work featured in various studies and anthologies. He founded the Alba group in the 1950s, contributed to numerous collective books and magazines, and was an active participant in poetic recitals. For 25 years, he worked as a writer for the newspaper La Voz de Galicia, gaining recognition as a literary critic. He received the National Poetry Prize of Spanish Letters in 2013.
