Kaluhiokalani made history by performing the first backside 360 in a major surf film, which contributed to his legendary status. He was celebrated by Surfer Magazine as one of the most influential surfers of all time, establishing his legacy in the surfing community. Kaluhiokalani passed away on November 2, 2013.
