Moturu Hanumantha Rao (1917-2001) was a significant Communist party leader in Andhra Pradesh, India. He served as the founder-editor of the daily Communist newspaper Prajasakti, launched on August 1, 1981. He held various governmental roles, including membership in the Madras Legislative Assembly, Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly, Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council, and the Rajya Sabha. Hanumantha Rao was also Secretary of the Andhra Pradesh State Committee of CPI (M) from 1964 to 1982. He authored several books and passed away in 2001.
