Nikolay Sergeyevich Korshunov was a Soviet trombonist and music educator, born on December 18, 1910, in Mologa, Yaroslavl Governorate. He served as a soloist in the Leningrad Philharmonic's Academic Symphony Orchestra and was a professor at the Leningrad Conservatory. In recognition of his contributions to music, he was honored as a Merited Artist of the RSFSR in 1963. Korshunov played a significant role in the development of trombone performance and pedagogy in the Soviet Union until his death on August 25, 1989, in Leningrad.
