He fled Spain with his family after the Civil War and settled in Mexico, where he studied architecture and developed organic architectural designs. Transitioning into film, he became involved with Cine Independiente de México and worked alongside noted filmmakers like Luis Buñuel. Known for his contributions to cinema and culture, he received the Ariel Award for his work in production design and was active in environmental advocacy towards the end of his life.
