Rumen Lyubenov Penin is a Bulgarian scholar and geographer, who served as a professor and head of the Department of Landscape Science and Environment Protection at Sofia University from 2006 to 2014. He holds a doctoral degree from Moscow State University. He is the chief editor of the electronic journal 'Geograph' and has authored multiple books, textbooks, guides, monographs, and scientific articles. Penin is also known for his photography exhibitions and lectures related to geography and has played a key role in organizing the Bulgarian Geography Festival.
