Alhaj S. Z. M. Mashoor Moulana was a prominent Sri Lankan politician born on 31 January 1932 in Maruthamunai. He began his political career alongside S. J. V. Chelvanayakam, representing the Illankai Tamil Arasu Kachchi. Despite losing a parliamentary seat in the 1960 General Election by a narrow margin, he served as the chairman of the Karaivakupattu Village Council from 1966 to 1974. He held notable positions such as chairman of the Hotels Corporation and Mayor of Kalmunai from 2009 to 2011 until his passing on 4 December 2015.
