Warren Air Force Base is a United States Air Force base located in Cheyenne, Wyoming, near the Colorado border. The base is home to the 90th Missile Wing, which operates and maintains 150 Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missiles. Warren AFB was established in 1942 as an Army Air Corps training base and was named after Francis E. Warren, a U.S. Senator from Wyoming. The base has a cold semi-arid climate with hot summers and cold winters, with average temperatures ranging from 17°F in January to 73°F in July.
