Selvigny is a commune in the Nord department in northern France. It is located 15 miles (24 km) south of Valenciennes and 10 miles (16 km) east of Cambrai. The weather in Selvigny is temperate, with average temperatures ranging from 3°C (37°F) in January to 18°C (64°F) in July. The history of Selvigny dates back to the Middle Ages, when it was a fortified village. The village was destroyed during the Hundred Years' War, but was rebuilt in the 16th century. Selvigny is home to several historical monuments, including the 16th-century church of Saint-Martin and the 18th-century Château de Selvigny.
