Arys is a city located in the southern part of Kazakhstan, in the South Kazakhstan Region. It has a continental climate with hot summers and cold winters. The city was founded in 1900 as a railway station on the Trans-Aral Railway. It is home to a number of historical and cultural landmarks, including the Arys Fortress, which was built in the 19th century. The city also has a number of museums and art galleries.
