Borzya is a town in Zabaykalsky Krai, Russia, located at the confluence of the Borzya and Onon Rivers. The town has a population of 30,697 (2010 census). The climate is sharply continental, with cold winters and hot summers. The average temperature in January is -25 °C (-13 °F), and the average temperature in July is +20 °C (+68 °F). The town was founded in 1899 as a railway station on the Trans-Siberian Railway. It was named after the Borzya River, which in turn was named after the Evenk word for "fast river".
