Saint Joseph, Missouri, is a historic city located in the northwestern part of the state, on the Missouri River. The city experiences a humid continental climate with hot, humid summers and cold, snowy winters. Saint Joseph was founded in 1826 as a trading post and quickly grew into a major hub for the Pony Express and the Oregon Trail. It has a rich heritage, with many historic buildings and sites, including the Pony Express Museum and the Jesse James Home Museum.
