Birkenbeul is a municipality in the district of Neuwied, in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. It is located in the Westerwald region, approximately 10 kilometers northwest of the town of Neuwied. The municipality has a population of around 450 people and covers an area of 4.22 square kilometers. The average temperature in Birkenbeul is 9.5 degrees Celsius, with an average annual precipitation of 750 millimeters. The municipality was first mentioned in 1244 and was part of the Electorate of Trier until 1803. In 1815, Birkenbeul became part of the Kingdom of Prussia and, in 1946, part of the state of Rhineland-Palatinate.
