Touvre is a commune in the Charente department in southwestern France. It is located in the Poitou-Charentes region, about 10 km (6 mi) northeast of Angoulême. The town has a population of about 1,100 people. The climate is temperate, with mild winters and warm summers. Touvre has a rich history, dating back to the Roman era. The town was once a fortified settlement, and the remains of the old walls can still be seen today. Touvre is also home to a number of historic churches and other buildings.
