Ashikaga is a city located in Tochigi Prefecture, Japan, at the northern foot of Mount Akagi. It has a humid subtropical climate with hot, humid summers and cold, dry winters. The city has a rich history, having been founded in the 15th century by the Ashikaga clan, who ruled Japan for over 200 years. Ashikaga is known for its many temples and shrines, including the Ashikaga Gakko, a Confucian school founded in the 16th century, and the Ashikaga Flower Park, which features over 300 varieties of flowers.
