Balad, also known as Balada or Belad, is a city located in the Salah ad Din Governorate of Iraq, approximately 80 kilometers north of Baghdad. It has a humid subtropical climate with hot summers and mild winters. The city has a rich history, dating back to the ancient Babylonian period, and is home to several historical and cultural sites, including the ruins of the ancient city of Dur-Kurigalzu and the Balad Museum.
