Blagoveshchensk, located on the Amur River, is a city in the Amur Oblast region of Russia. It has a continental climate with long, cold winters and short, warm summers. The city was founded in 1856 as a military outpost and has a rich history and heritage, including the Amur Regional Museum and the Cathedral of the Annunciation.
