Komsomol'sk-na-Amure, also known as Komsomol'sk, is a city in Khabarovsk Krai, Russia, located on the Amur River at the confluence of the Gorin and Amgun Rivers, approximately 400 kilometers north of Khabarovsk. The city has a humid continental climate, with cold, dry winters and warm, humid summers. Komsomol'sk-na-Amure was founded in 1932 as a center for the construction of the Baikal-Amur Mainline railway, and it has since become an important industrial center, with a focus on shipbuilding, metallurgy, and machinery production. The city is home to a number of cultural and historical landmarks, including the Komsomol'sk-na-Amure Museum of Local Lore and the Amur River Valley Nature Reserve.
