Shurugwi, also known as Selukwe, is a small town located in the Midlands province of Zimbabwe, approximately 300 kilometers southwest of Harare. It lies at an elevation of 1,340 meters above sea level and experiences a subtropical climate with average temperatures ranging from 15 to 25 degrees Celsius throughout the year. The town has a rich history dating back to the 19th century when it was established as a gold mining center. Its heritage is reflected in the numerous historical buildings and monuments, including the Selukwe Commonage, which is a national monument.
