Sleen is a village in the municipality of Coevorden, in the Dutch province of Drenthe. It is located at 52°46′18″N 6°48′10″E, in the eastern part of the province, close to the border with Germany. The village has a population of around 2,000 people. The weather in Sleen is temperate, with average temperatures ranging from 3°C in January to 18°C in July. The village has a long history, dating back to the Middle Ages. It was first mentioned in a document in 1225, and was granted city rights in 1327. Sleen is home to a number of historical buildings, including the 13th-century church of St. Pancras and the 16th-century town hall.
