Visan is a commune in the Vaucluse department in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region in southeastern France. It is located at an elevation of 213 meters (699 feet) above sea level, and its geographical coordinates are 44° 18' 0" north, 4° 58' 0" east. The climate is Mediterranean, with hot, dry summers and mild, wet winters. The commune has a rich history, dating back to the Roman era. It was once a fortified town, and its ruins can still be seen today.
