Wasilla is a city in the Matanuska-Susitna Borough of Alaska, located at the northern end of the Cook Inlet, approximately 43 miles north of Anchorage. The city has a humid continental climate with warm, short summers and cold, long winters. Wasilla was founded in 1917 as a railroad town and has a rich history and heritage that includes gold mining, agriculture, and tourism.
