Ismailia, also known as Al Ismā‘īlīyah, is a city located in Egypt, at the northern end of the Suez Canal. The city has a hot desert climate, with average temperatures ranging from 15°C in January to 32°C in August. Ismailia was founded in 1863 by Khedive Ismail, who named it after himself. The city played a significant role in the construction of the Suez Canal and was a major military base during the Suez Crisis in 1956. Today, Ismailia is a thriving city with a population of over 350,000 people. It is a popular tourist destination, known for its beautiful beaches, historical sites, and vibrant nightlife.
