Fernand Legros (1931-1983) was an art dealer known for orchestrating the sale of forged artworks by Elmyr de Hory, dubbed 'the Greatest Art Forger of Our Time'. Born in Ismaïlia, Egypt, he moved to Paris post-World War II. Legros's tumultuous partnership with de Hory, which began in the 1950s, led to significant wealth through fraudulent art sales worldwide. However, his deceptions were eventually uncovered, resulting in a prison sentence. Legros died of throat cancer in Chasseneuil-sur-Bonnieure. His life inspired fictional characters in literature.
