Hartwell, Georgia, is a small city located in the northeastern part of the state, near the border with South Carolina. The city has a humid subtropical climate with hot, humid summers and mild winters. Hartwell was founded in 1854 and named after Nancy Hart, a Revolutionary War heroine. The city is home to a number of historic sites, including the Hartwell Dam and the Hartwell Railroad Depot.
