Aubord, Languedoc-Roussillon, France

Aubord is a commune in the Gard department in the Occitanie region of southern France. It is located in the Languedoc-Roussillon region, about 20 kilometers (12 miles) northeast of Nîmes. The village has a population of around 2,300 people. The climate is Mediterranean, with hot, dry summers and mild, wet winters. Aubord has a rich history, dating back to the Roman era. The village was once part of the Roman province of Gallia Narbonensis. In the Middle Ages, Aubord was a fortified town. The village was destroyed during the French Wars of Religion in the 16th century. It was rebuilt in the 17th century. Aubord is home to a number of historical monuments, including the Romanesque church of Saint-Pierre and the 17th-century Château d'Aubord.
