Bunawan, also known as Bunauan, is a municipality in the Caraga region of the Philippines, located in the province of Agusan del Sur. It is situated at 8.1672200°N, 125.9908300°E, in the northeastern part of the province. The municipality experiences a tropical rainforest climate, with an average annual temperature of 27°C and an average annual rainfall of 2,000 mm. Bunawan has a rich history and heritage, dating back to the pre-colonial period when it was inhabited by the Manobo people. It became a municipality in 1948 and has since developed into a thriving community with a strong agricultural sector and a growing tourism industry.
