Denison, Iowa, is a city in Crawford County with a population of 8,348. It is located in the western part of the state, about 60 miles east of Omaha, Nebraska. The climate is humid continental, with hot summers and cold winters. The city was founded in 1855 and named after George Denison, a railroad executive. It is home to several historical landmarks, including the Crawford County Courthouse and the Denison Opera House.
