Kashin is a town in Tverskaya Oblast, Russia, located at the confluence of the Kashinka and Suda rivers, 175 kilometers northeast of Tver. The town has a humid continental climate, with cold, snowy winters and warm, humid summers. Kashin was first mentioned in chronicles in 1238 and was granted town status in 1775. It is known for its historical and cultural heritage, including the 13th-century Assumption Cathedral and the 18th-century Church of the Resurrection.
