Motrico, formerly known as Santa Monica, is a municipality in the province of Tarlac, Central Luzon, Philippines. It is located in the central part of the province, about 13 kilometers (8.1 mi) from the provincial capital, Tarlac City. The municipality has a tropical monsoon climate, with an average temperature of 27.2 °C (80.9 °F). The municipality was founded in 1760 by Augustinian missionaries and was named after the Spanish town of Motrico. The municipality is known for its historical landmarks, including the Santa Monica Church, which was built in 1781, and the Motrico Town Hall, which was built in 1885.
