Oregon City is a city in Clackamas County, Oregon, United States, located 13 miles (21 km) south of Portland, Oregon. Oregon City was the first capital of the Oregon Territory, and is the oldest city in the state of Oregon. The city has a population of 35,879 as of the 2020 census and an estimated population of 36,920 in 2023. Oregon City has a humid subtropical climate (Cfa) with warm, dry summers and cool, wet winters. The city is known for its historic downtown district, which features many Victorian-era buildings. Oregon City is also home to Willamette Falls, the largest waterfall by volume in the United States.
