Penngrove, California is a small town located in Sonoma County, California, United States. It is situated at the base of Sonoma Mountain, about 10 miles north of Santa Rosa. The town has a Mediterranean climate with warm, dry summers and cool, wet winters. Penngrove was founded in 1854 by a group of settlers from Pennsylvania. The town was originally named "Pennsgrove," but the name was later changed to "Penngrove" to avoid confusion with another town in the state.
