Phuthaditjhaba, formerly known as Witsieshoek, is a town in the eastern Free State province of South Africa, situated at the foot of the Maluti Mountains. Phuthaditjhaba was founded in 1869 as a mission station by the Paris Evangelical Missionary Society and was declared a municipality in 1904.
