Pomezia is a city in the province of Rome, in the Lazio region of Italy. It is located about 25 kilometers southeast of Rome, on the Tyrrhenian Sea coast. The city has a humid subtropical climate, with hot, dry summers and mild, wet winters. Pomezia was founded in 1938 as a planned city for the workers of the nearby oil refinery. The city has a rich cultural heritage, with many historical sites and monuments, including the ruins of the ancient Roman city of Lavinium.
