Susacón, Boyacá, Colombia, is a small municipality located at an altitude of 2,650 meters (8,694 feet) above sea level, approximately 140 kilometers (87 miles) northeast of Bogotá. It has a cold, humid climate, with an average temperature of 14 degrees Celsius (57 degrees Fahrenheit). Susacón was founded in 1558 by Captain Pedro de Aguilar and its historical and cultural heritage is reflected in its colonial architecture, traditional festivals, and the ancestral customs of the Muisca people.
