Węgry is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Biała, within Prudnik County, Opole Voivodeship, in south-western Poland. It lies approximately 6 kilometres (4 mi) north-east of Biała, 13 km (8 mi) north-east of Prudnik, and 39 km (24 mi) south-west of the regional capital Opole. The village has a population of 280. It is located in the historic region of Upper Silesia. The first mention of the village comes from 1284, when it was part of the Duchy of Opole. It became part of the Kingdom of Prussia in 1742 and remained so until 1945. After the Second World War, it became part of Poland. The village is known for its historic church, which was built in the 15th century. The village also has a number of other historic buildings, including a manor house and a mill. The climate in Węgry is temperate, with warm summers and cold winters. The average temperature in January is -1°C (30°F), while the average temperature in July is 18°C (64°F).
