Zeulenroda is a town in the Thuringian Forest in eastern Germany. It is located on the White Elster River, about 30 km (19 mi) southeast of Gera. The town has a population of about 15,000 people. The climate is temperate, with average temperatures ranging from -1°C (30°F) in January to 18°C (64°F) in July. Zeulenroda was first mentioned in a document in 1122. The town was a center of the textile industry in the 19th century. Today, Zeulenroda is a popular tourist destination, known for its beautiful scenery and its many historical buildings.
