Zotzenheim, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany

Zotzenheim is a municipality in the Rhein-Hunsrück-Kreis in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. It is located approximately 10 kilometers southwest of Simmern, and 15 kilometers northeast of Kirchberg. The village has a population of around 300 people. The climate is temperate, with average temperatures ranging from 0°C in January to 20°C in July. The village was first mentioned in a document in 1128. It was part of the County of Sponheim until 1437, when it was acquired by the Electorate of Trier. Zotzenheim remained part of Trier until the French Revolution, when it was occupied by French troops. After the defeat of Napoleon in 1815, Zotzenheim became part of the Kingdom of Prussia. In 1946, it became part of the newly founded state of Rhineland-Palatinate.
