Votkinsk, also known as Votka, is a city in the Udmurt Republic, Russia, located on the banks of the Votka River, a tributary of the Kama River. The city has a humid continental climate, with cold, snowy winters and warm, humid summers. Votkinsk was founded in 1759 as a copper smelting plant and became a major industrial center in the 19th century. The city is home to the Votkinsk Machine-Building Plant, which produces artillery and other military equipment. Votkinsk also has a rich cultural heritage, with several museums and theaters, and is known for its traditional Udmurt crafts and cuisine.
